Ibiza is an island located in the Mediterranean Sea and forms, together with the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera and several smaller islets, the archipelago and autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain.
Ibiza es una isla situada en el mar Mediterráneo y forma, junto con las islas de Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera y varios islotes menores, el archipiélago y comunidad autónoma de las Islas Baleares en España.
The island enjoys international renown for its coves and beaches and the quality of its waters as well as the large number of clubs and parties that attract large numbers of tourists. The port area also attracts many tourists because of its nightlife.
La isla goza de fama internacional por sus calas y playas y la calidad de sus aguas, así como por el gran número de clubes y fiestas que atraen a un gran número de turistas. La zona del puerto también atrae a muchos turistas por su vida nocturna.
The two official languages are the Balearic and Spanish and its capital is Ibiza, Eivissa in Catalan.

Today, Ibiza is known all over the world for the impressive beauty of the "Nave de piedra" Dalt Vila, the best preserved walled fortification in the Mediterranean and recognized by UNESCO with the declaration of World Heritage.

Ibiza is also an icon for its privileged natural environment and for the thousand-year-old Posidònia meadows, included in the World Heritage declaration, which maintain the marine ecosystem and guarantee the conservation of the sand on the beaches and the crystal-clear waters.
